The rol as Flag State Surveyors is to bring an specialized opinion to Governments to ensure that its own national law has been implemented comforms to its provisions on board vessels flying their flag.

AUDITS

Some surveyors of IAMSA, has been trained and designated Auditors for ISM Code and ISPS Code by The Liberian Marine Administration to perform initial, intermidial and special verifications on their behalf.

        

In other words, the rol of The Flag State Marine Surveyor is to verify the fullfiment of relevant conventions and to verify safety, sacurity and seaworthiness of ships.

Flag State Inspections (FSI) should be conducted at least once per year, however if the ship has been detained in the past months, Administration could request to present the ship for special surveys on their behalf.

Inspections are conducted using specific inspection report and forms designed by Technical Department of Administrations, following an standard to verify SOLAS, MARPOL, LL, BC, etc.
